S&T Croatia implements SAP

Magma d.d. Zagreb was founded as a private business by the Fižulic family in 1989 and emerged from their two manufactures. Today Magma is the leading Croatian retailer of top international brands in fashion, sports, toys, baby products and home equipment. Beside this, Magma has successfully launched their own lines of clothes, shoes and fashion accessories. Also, company is a leading distributor of some of the best confectionery and breakfast food producers in the world, such as Kellogg’s, Haribo, Bahlsen and others. In 1997 Magma d.o.o. was given a capital increase by the East European Food Fund SICAF of Luxembourg and became a stock corporation with shared foreign ownership. In 2008 the company achieved sales equating to more than 135 million euros. Today the company has 99 store branches and 1,426 employees in Croatia and is forecasting sales growth of 20 percent in 2009.

The challenge


With the new solution, Magma has eliminated the data redundancy that previously existed and now no longer needs to enter the same data repeatedly in various sub-systems. This results in shorter processing times and an increase in data quality, both factors which are of considerable importance in management-level strategic and operational decision making. The system is also flexible and can be adapted to new organizational and business requirements, and allows implementation of new sub-systems without disturbing day-to-day operations. Not least, it will now be much easier to integrate Magma subsidiaries.

The project


S&T has designed and implemented a comprehensive SAP solution for Magma d.d., Croatia’s leading retail and distribution company. The system was recently successfully put into operation. The solution installed by S&T includes the implementation of modules for finance and cash management, controlling, travel management, administration of human resources documents, salary and wages accounting, and the purchasing and supply of non-commercial articles.
